Prospective Club Athlete Information & Commitment Guide

Thank you for your interest in the BTG Athletics Foundation. Our mission is to transform athletes beyond the game. We remove financial barriers for motivated student-athletes to provide access to high-quality, transformative coaching

Before you begin our extensive application process, please review the following details regarding the commitment, values and expectations of our Club program.

At BTG, we develop athletes on and off the court. Our program is built on specific coaching values and leadership pillars that every scholarship athlete is expected to embody:

  • Commitment to Growth: We look for athletes who show a genuine passion for the game and a desire to grow as student-athletes.

⏱️The Club Season Commitment

Joining the BTG Club Season requires a high level of dedication. Prospective athletes should be prepared for the following schedule:

  • Mandatory Training: The program includes 2x weekly team practices, 4x monthly specialized skills training, and 8x monthly performance training sessions focusing on strength, agility, and injury prevention.

  • Tournament Play: Games and tournaments are typically played bi-weekly (every other week)

  • Locations: Most tournaments are held in Orange County and the surrounding regions.

  • Accountability: Attendance at all BTGAF training sessions is mandatory. This scholarship is a commitment to your team and your own development.

💰Financial Information

The BTGAF scholarship is designed to fund the major expenses associated with transformative club basketball

  • What the Scholarship Covers: The Foundation pays the $500 monthly tuition in full This covers all transformative coaching, gym rentals, and the athlete's tournament entry fees

  • What is Not Covered: The scholarship does not cover entry or spectator fees for parents, family members, or guests at tournament venues.

  • Family Startup Fee: To ensure a baseline commitment, families of scholarship athletes are responsible for a one-time $350 startup fee due at the start of the season.

  • Apparel: This startup fee provides the athlete with their full uniform package and BTG merchandise

📚Transportation & Academics

  • Transportation: Families are responsible for getting athletes to all practices and tournaments. While we do not provide official transportation, we work with our community to help coordinate carpools among BTG families.

  • Academic Standards: Applicants must demonstrate academic responsibility by upholding a minimum GPA of 3.0. An official transcript is required as part of the application
